Item details

The day of the roup is the source of amusement to many but one of great sadness to the elderly couple selling up. Their son, Lachie, disappeared twenty years ago and the grandson is not interested in carrying on the family farm. The family and good neighbours help and also lighten the day. Neighbour Frunkie is interested in getting the farm and neighbour Hazel is interested in getting Frunkie. Grandson Robin wants to marry Helen and start a di?erent business. The family never finds out what happened to Lachie but the audience do. The set is easy and should be fun. The play is written in the Buchan dialect but could be performed in any rural dialect. Strong drama laced with many hilariously comic moments.
